Developing and supporting FGM survivors

to become FGM Health advocates.

Creating Equalz has developed this programme alongside the existing Protective Behaviour’s programme. It implements the PB’s and peer mentor support within the issue of Female Genital Mutilation. Its focus is on secondary school girls and benefits being rolled out leading up to summer holidays. The vision is to deliver this programme in all secondary schools in close collaboration with safeguarding leads and head teachers. (Schools would benefit from the Bronze FGM CPD accredited programme in order to support this within their school environment).

Creating Equalz are currently working with students from Year 10 at Northampton International Academy (NIA). The students are very enthusiastic about the programme and are learning new skills at each session and encouraging discussion around the Violence Against Women and Girls agenda.
