Director, Founder

Laney Holland

Laney Holland has worked in the Black voluntary sector over the past twenty years. She has in particular focussed on critically important issues about race, gender and exclusion including areas such as female genital mutilation (FGM) and the access of BAME women to domestic violence services. As a Director of Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Council, she has been the governance lead on the organisation's pregnancy and maternity discrimination project. She is also a founder of Creating Equalz, a local charity striving to work with local and national agencies to get a strategic focus on gender based violence and race. Over the past few years she has been practising as a Complex vulnerability midwife, in Coventry.

April Ventour-Griffiths

April Ventour-Griffiths comes from a background of more than 25 years in Training, Personal Development, Women’s Motivational Coaching, Academic Coaching
and Mentoring. She has years of working in the communities of London and Northampton managing projects including SRB5, Tackling Race Inequality Fund (TRIF), Supporting Women Back to Work with Northamptonshire Women’s Network and looking at The Impact of Domestic Abuse for Black women in Northampton with Sunflower Centre. Currently she also works with Eve as a Domestic Abuse Training Consultant.

She is a passionate advocate for women’s health and wellbeing especially looking at the inequality of Black women in this area. April is a broadcaster on women’s issues on the Women with Soul Show and more recently Conversations with AprilsDawn on N-Live Radio. She is a voice for Black women and consistently encouraging women to work on their self-esteem and confidence to maintain their mental health and wellbeing.
